The clinical classification of an allergic reaction is defined as the hypersensitive response of the immune system of an allergic person to a substance. A person is said to have an allergy if they are allergic to generally non-toxic allergens such as pet dander, pollen, fungi and mold spores or certain foods and liquids. One of the main causes of allergies is a substance found in food, pollen and molds called an allergen, which is a protein that an allergic individual’s immune system reacts to as if it were a threat to the body. The seriousness of an allergy can be seen in the fact that people often do not have much time to react or prepare for it. Allergies are actually reactions to allergens in the surroundings to which a person may be sensitive, thus experiencing uncomfortable symptoms.
